EPS Frequently Asked Questions
What is an estate sale?
An estate sale is a sale held in someone's home with the goal of liquidating its contents. It is not the same as a yard or garage sale in that this is not just someone's junk they are looking to clear out; these are the better part of one's possessions.
Who can have an estate sale?
Anyone can have an estate sale! EPS holds the estate sales as a company on your behalf. It's a great way to sell the contents of ones home when downsizing, moving, or even dealing with a death in the family.
How long are estate sales?
Estate sales can run from one to four days, depending on the size. Most of our sales are two or three days, running from Thursday or Friday through Saturday. We open at 9:30am each day. On weekdays we close at 2:30pm, and most of our sales close at 12:00pm on Saturday.
How does EPS determine pricing?
We use our decades long combined experience and expertise to price items based on fair market value.
I saw an item at your sale and would like to buy it. Can I pre-purchase it?
No. We do not pre-sell items from our sales. Those in line on opening day get first go at what's inside. If you cannot make it when we open, and the item you are interested in does not sell to someone in line, then we would be happy to provide you with a price and accept payment via PayPal to hold the item for pick up.
Can you help me move a large furniture item I purchased?
No, for the safety of our employees we cannot assist in moving furniture or other large purchases. While we have some basic tools on hand for disassembling furniture, we ask that you bring proper tools and help to move your purchases.
Are there any items you do not sell at your sales?
For legal purposes, we do not sell alcohol, taxidermy, or guns made after 1890.
What method of payment do you accept at your sales?
EPS accepts cash and PayPal sent via Friends and Family. We do not accept personal or business checks, or credit/debit cards.
Do you charge sales tax?
